Sandra Phillips-Sved

Sandra’s career has been driven by a passion for and commitment to school reform and innovation in Preschool-Grade twelve, since her early years as an educator and founding teacher on design teams of urban charter schools in Brooklyn, New York, and Los Angeles, California. As a former school administrator, Preschool Director, and Director of Early Childhood Programs with more than over ten years experience, she has lead school improvement efforts in urban charter schools as well as traditional public schools. Her most recent school leadership positions were in the Millbrae Elementary School District and the San Mateo Foster City School District. She was also a Director of School Transformation with Partners In School Innovation.  Presently, she is a Director and Leadership Coach for Transformative Leadership for Equity and Excellence at the San Francisco Unified School District.

Sandra holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education. While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of California at Berkeley. She enjoys yoga, dance, public art, and live music. She treasures spending quality time with her husband, their four young adult children, and family dog.
